116 TARGA 2022

It is with regret that I have to announce we are unable to run the 116 Targa Tracks on 31st July 2022, as originally planned. We have just received notification that Glan Y Gors Circuit, which hosts the event for us and allows us to run three tests, following the peace and quiet of the Covid Pandemic, has received some complaints about noise from some local residents.

With this in mind they are currently unable to run this type of motorsport event on a Sunday. Added to that, we have also lost two of our usual test venues as a result of storm damage over the past 18 months.

After much thought the Committee decided that rather than run what we felt would be a sub-standard event, even if we could secure a venue to host scrutineering, signing on, lunch and results, the lack of tests has a detrimental effect on the quality of our Targa.

We will spend the next few months working with our partners to try and ensure we can run a quality event in 2023 and apologise for any disappointment this may cause. Believe me there is no one more disappointed than myself and the Committee.
Good luck to you all in any events you participate in during 2022 and hopefully see you all in 2023.

Baz Green
Chairman
